Art Poster – Cambridge Road
I have had my eye on these old row houses on Cambridge Road for some time, and have been waiting for a quiet morning with a good slant of sunshine. I liked the bold primary colours and the simple blocky lines of the houses, and the way they could be used to create a strong, graphic almost art poster-like image. I caught it this morning with the sun streaming up the road, making attractive plays of light and shadow on the pediments of the houses and in the detailing in the stonework along the walkway. It also rendered me, as the cyclist, in a more stylised and graphic way – contributing to the over-all woodcut, art poster effect. I set up my tripod across the road and took a series of images. I found I had several favourites. Here is one.
