Art & Cycling

Art and cycling go hand in hand, I’ve always thought – and I’m in good company in thinking that. Impressionists such as Marc Chagall and Picasso have incorporated bicycles in their art while illustrators for The New Yorker have included bicycles in the cover illustrations more than a hundred times over the years. I’d spotted this graffiti covered wall on the ground floor of the art deco Marine Court building on the seafront here at Hastings and thought it would make for a nice image, framed by the colonnades. As rver in the traffic-clogged world in which we live, the ┬átrouble was finding it when it wasn’t obscured by a mass of parked cars and delivery vans. My patience was rewarded. This morning I was in luck.
